About the Department

Arabic department of Amdanga Jugal Kishore Mahavidyalaya started its journey from 2017-18 academic year with two guest lecturers Md Golam Mortoja and Mahabubar Rahaman. From the beginning, the department has been offering Arabic general degree course as a part of B.A General Programme. Arabic general is also available for the Honours students of various Programmes as a Generic Elective subject. Every year a number of students studying B.A General or Honours Programme in Amdanga Jugal Kishore Mahavidyalaya take Arabic as one of their Discipline Specific Core subject or Generic Elective subject.

Amdanga Jugal Kishore Mahavidyalaya is situated in Amdanga Block. About 60% of the total population is from a minority community. So, culturally, it is expected that Arabic will have a better prospect as a discipline in this locality.

Arabic department emphasizes on imparting knowledge of the Arabic language, literature, and its history to the students of Amdanga Jugal Kishore Mahavidyalaya. The knowledge of which will help them in both academic and non-academic endeavors.
