CBCSEach semester under CBCS has a duration of six month in which class room session as well as examinations will have to be completed. Students will earn 1 credit per 15 hours, each class being of the duration of 1 hour. A course/paper consisting of 6 credits will carry a maximum of 75 marks of which written exam would constitute of 50 marks an 25 marks are allotted for internal marking. In the 1st semester the students will have to study Environmental Science as compulsory subject and in the 2nd semester, one Modern Indian Language (Bengali) or English Communication Each subject carries a total of 2 credits. As SEC, honours students will have to study 2 papers of on subject determinded by the college. General students will have to study 4 papers of one subject as SEC. Each paper consists of 2 credits. Honours students will have to study a total 14 core course. Each course carries a total of 6 credits. Honours students will have to study 4 papers as DSE related to the core course subject. Honours students will have to choose any two subject as Generic Elective(GE) from combination provided by college. Each subject in GE includes 2 papers. Each paper carries a total of 6 credits. General students will have to take up English as compulsory subject in 1st and 2nd semester. In 3rd and 4th semester, they will have to take up Bengali as compulsory subject. A total 12 credits is allotted for each compulsory subject. Apart from these, two subjects will have to be taken up by the students as core course. Each subject will have 4 paper. General students will have to study 2 subject as DSE, related core course. Each subject comprises of 2 papers. Each paper carries a total of 6 credits. One subject will have to be studied as GE. The GE subject consists of 2 papers. Each paper carries a total of 6 credits. |
